Statement: The claim's specific numbers are incorrect — either the population size is not one million, the average score is not 5.4, or the scoring is not on a 0-10 scale as described. The Scorecard project may use different metrics than what is claimed.
Supporting Evidence Would Show¶
- OpenSSF documentation showing the Scorecard does not produce a single aggregate score, or uses a different scale
- Evidence that the critical projects set is significantly smaller or larger than one million
- Published Scorecard statistics showing a mean substantially different from 5.4
Eliminating Evidence Would Show¶
- Official OpenSSF materials confirming a one-million-project dataset with a mean score of approximately 5.4 on a 0-10 scale
- Multiple independent analyses converging on the same figures
