Statement: The 5.4 figure is incorrect or outdated — the actual mean Scorecard score is materially different due to methodology changes, population definition changes, or updated measurements.
Supporting Evidence Would Show¶
- Evidence that OpenSSF Scorecard methodology has changed significantly (new checks, reweighting) since the 5.4 figure was measured.
- More recent aggregate analyses showing substantially different means.
- Evidence that the 'top one million' population is defined differently than assumed.
Eliminating Evidence Would Show¶
- Recent (2024-2025) data confirming the mean remains near 5.4.
- OpenSSF official statements corroborating the 5.4 figure.
