Supporting Evidence Would Show¶
- OpenSSF project publications or blog posts reporting aggregate Scorecard statistics with a mean near 5.4.
- Academic papers analyzing Scorecard distributions that report a mean of approximately 5.4.
- BigQuery public dataset analyses showing the distribution of Scorecard scores centering around 5.4.
Eliminating Evidence Would Show¶
- Official OpenSSF publications reporting a significantly different mean (e.g., 3.0 or 7.0).
- Evidence that the 'top one million' population does not exist or uses a different scoring methodology.
- Studies showing the mean Scorecard score is heavily skewed and the 5.4 mean is misleading.
