- Academic papers analyzing the Scorecard BigQuery dataset and computing a mean score near 5.4.
- Conference presentations by OpenSSF staff citing the 5.4 average.
Eliminating Evidence Would Show¶
- OpenSSF or academic data showing the mean score is significantly different (e.g., below 4.0 or above 7.0).
- Evidence that no authoritative source has ever reported a 5.4 average.
- Evidence that the dataset size is far smaller than 'one million' projects.
