C001 — CI Adoption Rate in Open Source Projects — Self-Audit¶
Contents¶
Process Audit (Analytical Domains)¶
| Domain | Rating | Rationale |
|---|---|---|
| Evaluation Consistency | Pass | All three sources for C001 (Decan et al., Kinsman et al., Golzadeh et al. via Decan) received comparable treatment. The Decan et al. study providing the 43.9% figure was not privileged over the Kinsma |
| Synthesis Fairness | Pass | The synthesis gave appropriate weight to the population-definition nuance. The finding that 43.9% applies to filtered active repos (300+ stars/commits) was prominently noted, as was the >50% npm figur |

Discrepancies¶
- minor at https://arxiv.org/html/2602.14572v3
- Assessment claims: The claim says approximately 40% of open source projects use CI. The assessment traces this to Decan et al.'s finding of 43.9% GHA adoption.
- Source actually says: The source reports 43.9% GHA adoption in 68K repos by January 2022, but this is GitHub Actions specifically, not all CI. The source also notes >50% CI adoption in npm repos (Golzadeh et al.). The assessment correctly distinguishes these but the original claim conflates GHA adoption with CI adoption.
