Extract¶
ICD 203 states that all IC analytic products must "implement and exhibit" nine Analytic Tradecraft Standards. The IC Analytic Standards were established in 2007, revised, revalidated, and approved by the DNI in January 2015. The directive articulates five overarching Analytic Standards (objectivity, independence, timeliness, based on all available sources, and implementation of tradecraft standards) with the nine tradecraft standards as the operational implementation requirement.
Relevance to Hypotheses¶
| Hypothesis | Relationship | Strength |
|---|---|---|
| H1 | Supports | Directly confirms nine standards with governing authority |
| H2 | Contradicts | No ambiguity in the count or governing function |
| H3 | Contradicts | Definitively establishes the claim |
Context¶
ICD 203 is the primary directive governing analytic tradecraft across the entire US Intelligence Community. It applies to all IC elements and all analytic products.
