R0031/2026-03-27/C004/H2¶
Statement¶
The 22% figure exists but measures broader AI use on assignments, not exclusively submitting fully AI-generated content.
Status¶
Current: Supported
Supporting Evidence¶
| Evidence | Summary |
|---|---|
| SRC01-E01 | 22% = half of 43% AI users, including partial and full use |
Contradicting Evidence¶
| Evidence | Summary |
|---|---|
| None | No evidence contradicts this interpretation |
Reasoning¶
The BestColleges survey shows 22% used AI for assignments, but of those, behavior ranged from partial assistance (50%) to majority AI-written (30%) to fully AI-generated (17%). The claim overgeneralizes.
Relationship to Other Hypotheses¶
H2 is the most precise characterization. H1 requires exact accuracy; H3 requires the figure to be wrong — neither fits.
