R0027/2026-03-26/Q003/H1¶
Statement¶
Multilingual prompt engineering needs are well-addressed in existing guides and standards. Major vendor guides discuss multilingual considerations and are available in multiple languages.
Status¶
Current: Eliminated
H1 is eliminated. None of the three major vendor guides (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) include dedicated multilingual prompt engineering sections, and all three are primarily or exclusively English-only. No ISO/IEC standard addresses prompt engineering specifically. The only major guide available in multiple languages is a community resource (promptingguide.ai), not a vendor guide.
Supporting Evidence¶
| Evidence | Summary |
|---|---|
| SRC03-E01 | promptingguide.ai is available in 14 languages — but this is a community resource, not a vendor guide |
Contradicting Evidence¶
| Evidence | Summary |
|---|---|
| SRC01-E01 | OpenAI guide is English-only, no multilingual section |
| SRC02-E01 | Anthropic guide is English-only, no multilingual section |
| SRC04-E01 | Google guide is primarily English, limited Spanish/Portuguese |
Reasoning¶
All three major vendor guides fail both tests: they neither address multilingual prompting as a topic nor are available in non-English languages (with Google offering minimal exceptions). H1 is eliminated with high confidence.
Relationship to Other Hypotheses¶
H1 is the polar opposite of H2, which is well-supported. H3 captures the middle ground but even H3 may overstate the coverage.
